| description | The Area Development with the support of the Business Development and the Center for Studies and Research of the Solidarity Sector , the Sector Census conducted in order to identify, quantify and determine the characteristics of the producing units ocañeras arepas characteristics in the city of Ocaña in terms of size, infrastructure modernization , geographic location, legal organization , level of informality in the sector, level of education and training needs , in addition to a diagnosis for the formation of a company under partnership models dedicated to sourcing and marketing . This in order to obtain sufficient evidence and provide tools that allow projects to counteract the lack of development and business development in the sector, and present strategies for improvement in productivity levels and local and regional business development.
To achieve compliance with the objectives, a quantitative descriptive research that sought to specify the properties and characteristics of the sector , as well as profiles of the production units is proposed . Moreover , for the collection of information was raised as a tool to use the survey to collect information .
Regarding the identification of the population , was performed by scanning Ocana commune by commune and district by district starting in the north and ending in the south, simultaneously sampling method was used for the snowball to ensure identification of 100 % of the production units .
As for the results of the investigation , it was found that 92.6% of the population immersed in the production process are women, and that a low level of education and schooling. Moreover, it was shown that the increased participation of socio economic strata correspond to 1 and 2, where the production of arepas made in family homes , which showed that the activity is considered survival and is not seen as an opportunity development for the creation and promotion of industry and established brands . |

El Área de Desarrollo con apoyo del Área de Fomento Empresarial y el Centro de Estudios e Investigación del Sector Solidarios, realizó el Censo Sectorial con el objeto de identificar, cuantificar y determinar las características propias de las unidades productoras de arepas ocañeras en la ciudad de Ocaña, en cuanto a tamaño, infraestructura, tecnificación, ubicación geográfica, organización jurídica, nivel de informalidad en el sector, nivel de escolaridad y necesidades de capacitación, además de realizar un diagnóstico para la conformación de una empresa bajo modelos de asociatividad dedicada a aprovisionamiento y comercialización. Esto con el fin de obtener elementos de juicio suficientes que permitan brindar herramientas y proyectos que contrarresten la falta de desarrollo el sector, para el planteamiento de estrategias de mejoramiento de los niveles de productividad y desarrollo empresarial local y regional. Para lograr el cumplimiento de los objetivos planteados, se plantea una investigación cuantitativa de tipo descriptiva que busca especificar las propiedades y características del sector, así como también el perfiles de las unidades productivas. Por otra parte, para la recolección de la información se planteó utilizar como instrumento la encuesta que permitirá la recolección de la información. La identificación de la población, se realizó haciendo un barrido de Ocaña comuna por comuna y barrio por barrio comenzando por el norte y terminando en sur, al mismo tiempo que se utilizó el método de muestro por bola de nieve para poder garantizar la identificación del 100% de las unidades productivas. En cuanto a los resultados de la investigación, se detecta que el 92,6% de la población inmersa en el proceso de producción son mujeres, y que existen un bajo nivele de educación y escolaridad. Por otra parte, se detectó también que los estratos socio económicos en el sector, la mayor participación corresponde a estratos 1 y 2, donde la producción de arepas se hace en casas de familia, lo que evidencia que dicha actividad se considera de supervivencia y no es vista como una oportunidad de desarrollo para la creación e impulso de industria y marcas consolidadas.
