After an inventory, it was found that there are enough attractions, but the business system must be organized so that the tourism sector can be empowered and to develop activities in a sustainable and responsible manner; For this reason, entities such as the Chamber of Commerce of Ocaña, The Francisco de Paula Santander Ocaña University, SENA, the City Hall, the private enterprise and other local and national institutions must design projects that favor the improvement of the business network that in an efficient and competitive way they point to the development of this sector. The idea is to propose associative and complementary strategies so that tourism can be offered with quality in a sustainable, responsible and participative way, generating a true economic development. |

La ciudad de Ocaña, junto con los municipios de La Playa, Ábrego y El Carmen, ubicados en el departamento Norte de Santander, Colombia, poseen gran riqueza cultural, histórica y natural, que permiten proyectar esta región como destino turístico; pero en la actualidad la cultura que prevalece en torno a las actividades económicas se centra en el comercio; el turismo es una actividad que en los empresarios no se ve con claridad y pocos le han apostado a desarrollar proyectos en este sentido. Luego de realizado un inventario, se encontró que hay suficientes atractivos, pero se debe organizar el sistema empresarial para que el sector del turismo pueda potencializarse y desarrollar actividades de manera sostenible y responsable; por ello entidades como la Cámara de Comercio de Ocaña, la Universidad Francisco de Paula Santander Ocaña, el Sena, la Alcaldía municipal, la empresa privada y otras instituciones del orden local y nacional, deben diseñar proyectos que propendan por el mejoramiento del tejido empresarial que de manera eficiente y competitiva le apunten al desarrollo de este sector.
