Esta investigación de tipo mixto, Indagó sobre las prácticas pedagógicas de los docentes para el desarrollo de la creatividad y la innovación en el grado segundo de la Institución Educativa Colegio Municipal Aeropuerto de la ciudad de Cúcuta. Para ello se apoyó en la Teoría de la Creatividad Sociocultural definida por el Dr. De Prado (2011); el procedimiento metodológico que permitió indagar sobre estas prácticas se soportó en dos técnicas de recolección de la información como son el cuestionario y el grupo focal, este primero realizado a los 5 docentes y el grupo focal a 10 estudiantes, dos de cada curso de segundo grado. El estudio estuvo dividido en 4 dimensiones: Dimensión 1. Entorno Educativo, Dimensión 2, Interacción con el estudiante, Dimensión 3. Metodología y Dimensión 4. Aprendizaje, donde en cada una se denotaron falencias en cuanto a las prácticas pedagógicas de los docentes y su interés por el desarrollo de la creatividad e innovación en sus estudiantes.
