Los consultorios empresariales son herramientas de extensión institucional que brindan atención a emprendedores, pequeñas y medianas empresas mediante asesorías, capacitaciones y atención profesional frente a las necesidades de dichas organizaciones, que no cuentan con los recursos económicos suficientes para obtenerlos de forma externa. La implementación de consultorios empresariales en instituciones de educación superior beneficia enormemente a la comunidad educativa, a los usuarios del servicio, generando al mismo tiempo un incremento en el desarrollo socio-económico local, ya que se promueve el desempeño de labores empresariales gracias a la accesibilidad de la consultoría. Uno de los principales objetivos de los consultorios empresariales es el fortalecimiento del proceso formativo de los estudiantes de nivel superior, ya que desde la práctica y el aprendizaje experiencial es posible adquirir, desarrollar y reforzar las competencias profesionales requeridas en el medio al que se proyectan.
