| Summary: | The main purposes of this paper are to provide some reading keys on the links between social cohesion policies and local development, on one hand, and analyse some best practices of the Euro-LatinAmerican cooperation in this field, on the other hand. With this target, the article approaches a brief review of the conceptual focus of the public policies, also analysing the recent diffusion in Latin America and their growing application at the sub-national level. Finally, after a brief analysis of the social cohesion concept, the last part of the paper presents some good practices and successful experiences of the Euro-Latin American cooperation, identifying and promoting public policies made by local authorities and based on a good governance, social cohesion and democratic participation. |
