Summary:The main objective of the research was to recognize the degree of knowledge held by the presidents of the community action board of the rural area about Solidarity Economy, for which community leaders who represent the rural zone of Ocaña, Colombia, were surveyed. With the gathered data, three clusters and an indicator were established that allow us to understand the degree of knowledge that the Presidents of Community Action Board have about the subject of study. The results show that 65% of the leaders have low or very low knowledge about the subject, being necessary the strengthening of skills and knowledge that allows them to be guarantor of the development processes in their territories. It is the responsibility of the administrative entity to find strategic allies that allow them to strengthen the competencies of this community leaders in order to implement projects that stimulate economies through solidarity initiatives, wich can be meant as a mechanism for territorial development, where the presidents of Acción Board are who encourage such actions.
